Wake up call

I went and worked in the nursery unit at the hospital today to assess two little baby twins' nutritional status. They were two little tiny babies, sharing a teeny bassinet! They were precious.

Anyways, the nursery was pretty full.. tons of ladies have been birthing babies in the past week or so! When one little infant started crying, so did many others. They just started crying for no reason out of the blue!

I got to thinking.. YIKES. I AM SO NOT READY TO BE A MOM.

Enough said.

No rush. Enjoy the married life. . . doing whatever you want when you're not at work, hanging out, going on trips. There is definitely something to be said for spending a few years as a married couple. No regrets here, but a little wistfulness.

Can I just say that it's very different when it's your own? Hard to explain - but it is.

Kristine, aren't you coming up on your sixth? I can't even imagine...

Jacob - yep! Pretty crazy. But don't you have a whole bunch of foster kids in your house? That's not easy either.

Sherri - I seem to be having conversations with other people on your pages. LOL

We only had three, well four for a month. But they were older. We did have one six year old that made things interesting. Such a sensitive little boy.

My favorite friends are the ones without kids of their own yet because they are super helpful anytime they come over or go anywhere with us.

What?? A room full of crying newborns didn't make you want to have kids? hahaha... it's not so bad, really. In most cases you only have one and they don't usually cry a lot as newborns. I personally was horrified of having kids, believe it or not. I never really liked babies or kids that much.. But it's so much better than I ever imagined. But yeah, enjoy this time without them! I gotta admit, taking a shower with no one bothering me would be great... I do envy that.:)
