Ok, I'm probably going to hell for making fun of a patient at the hospital, but it was just too funny to not share.
Do any of you watch MadTV re-runs? This patient totally reminds me of the chick, Stephnie Weir with the high whiny voice. My patient was just like this character on MadTV.

Anyways, I was standing at the nurse server, looking at this lady's chart when I heard this little high voice call out, "Can somebody help me? Please.. somebody give me my pain pills. Please, someone bring me some apple juice."
Silence on the front. Nobody turns to help this lady. Then I read in the chart that this lady is crazy and they're trying to teach her how to appropriately ask for things she needs and not just yell things out to all nurses on the floor. The lady is like 56 years old, has several health problems (including a couple of strokes), and now her husband is divorcing her because she's become too much work.
The next thing she yells out, "Please someone get me a preacher!"
I tried SO HARD not to laugh. A nurse's assistant and I looked at each other and shrugged. She asked me what I thought she needed a preacher for.. I shook my head and tried not to say what I was thinking: "An exorcism".
So today, I was up on the same floor as this lady's room.. and she was getting ready to leave the hospital. I ignored her because I was just trying to follow the advice of the medical chart! She kept crying out, "Will someone help me with my socks? The bus is picking me up in 5 minutes!!"
The social worker, 3 nurses, and 5 nurse's assistants had to inform her for the hundredth time that her bus would not be there for an hour and someone would help her when they could.
Seriously, watch the video of the annoying chick with the high voice, and picture an old crazy woman yelling out, "Will someone get me a preacher?"... and it'll make your day.
A working mom's musings on life, nutrition, beauty, and home making. Nothing too important.

That stupid thing wouldn't load. I'm over trying to watch it. We'll see each other in just a little over a day, yay!
I'm super upset that you called a 56 year old woman "old". What the h is wrong with you???!!!!!!
She LOOKED like she was in her 70s! And don't ever say "what the h" again! At least, never again on my blog.
That is hilarious. I sorta feel bad for people like that, but only when I dont have to deal with them on a regular basis.
People like who Shannon? People who say "what the h"? Me too...
